What is ethical design?

Ethical design is a form of graphic design that is centred around a holistic practice of design. Delivering our clients’ messages through ethical design (and working with clients who share our values!) is the way we believe design should be used.

“Ethical design” is an umbrella term used for anything that could be considered eco, sustainable, green, socially and culturally conscious graphic design. This type of design emphasises creative and innovative solutions that are relevant within a commercial global market – while also embracing the basic tenets of sustainability.

Learn more about sustainable design

We have recently produced an online course: Change the World as a Sustainable Graphic Designer. The course is a collection of thirty short lectures intended to teach designers (experienced or otherwise) how to look beyond commercial outcomes to find solutions that are more ethical and responsible.
