EnergyHub empowers utilities and their customers to create a clean, distributed energy future.

EnergyHub is the leading grid-edge DERMS (distributed energy resource management system) provider. Utilities rely on EnergyHub’s DERMS platform to manage all distributed energy resources to serve grid and market objectives. EnergyHub works with over 60 utilities in North America to manage more than 1.3 GW of flexible capacity. The Brooklyn-based company is transforming complexity at the grid edge into reliable resources for utilities and energy.

The brief

Over the past 7+ years, we have regularly been engaged to support EnergyHub on a variety of design projects that require our expertise in nutting out some tricky and creative graphical components.

The projects we have been engaged to work on include (but are not limited to):

  • Rebranding all of EnergyHub’s new and old marketing collateral
  • Updating/redesigning all of the graphics and assets on their new website (including sourcing all new imagery)
  • Ongoing design of white papers and facts sheets
  • Ongoing support with designing small and large slide decks and presentations (including PowerPoint and Google Slides templates for internal use)
  • Development of a custom icon pack
  • Design of 2D and 3D diagrams and complex infographics
  • Ongoing design of digital assets for social, web, and email
  • Ongoing support with designing various kinds of company branded promo collateral (including Tesla car wrap featured above*)

EDCo. has also been hired to work on full branding suites for the HubSummit conferences held in 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2024, including:

  • HubSummit logo design and brand concept (updated from year-to-year)
  • HubSummit basic brand style tile and secondary brand assets (e.g. patterns and icons etc.)
  • Print and digital event marketing collateral (e.g. large posters, postcards, website banners, ‘save the date’ email banners, and more)
  • Printed event collateral (e.g. pull-up banners, stage back-drops, signage, custom photo booth cut-outs, and custom name badges)
  • HubSummit PowerPoint templates
  • Stock image research for various assets

Lastly, we designed several long-form slide decks for each speaker from the EnergyHub team – for all three HubSummit conferences. Each PowerPoint presentation included a range of highly graphical devices, and some required custom infographics and illustrations.

The left factoid poster features text highlighting the US's need for 1.5 TW of carbon-free generation and 500 GW of flexibility to meet 2035 decarbonization goals, along with additional statistics about EnergyHub's achievements. The right poster displays the HubSummit 2024 logo and a large arrow pointing right.

How is this ethical?

EnergyHub provides electric and gas utilities with a software platform that connects utilities to customer-owned devices, such as smart thermostats, electric vehicles, EV charging equipment, solar and battery systems, etc., enabling partnerships between those utilities and their customers that benefit both sides.

EnergyHub is an innovative and forward-thinking company with values that align very much with our ethos of promoting sustainability and renewable energy. Their smart solutions and cost-effective energy management tools strengthen the relationship between utilities and consumers and help solve the energy problems of today and tomorrow.
