The Energy Efficiency Council (EEC) recently launched a new certifications framework that allows professionals to become certified in various categories.

The Energy Efficiency Council (founded in 2009) is a not-for-profit membership association for businesses, governments, universities, and NGOs. In 2021, the EEC announced the redesign of their Energy Efficiency Certification Scheme (EECS) into EEC Professional Certifications to deliver multiple certifications that drive energy and emissions reduction across the economy.

Professionals can become certified in various categories including:

Icon design
Illustration
Logo design
Marketing design
Secondary branding
UX design & strategy
Website design & development

The brief

In 2022 we were engaged to work on a full digital refresh project for EEC Professional Certifications including:

  • UX strategy and design, and persona development
  • Website design and development in WordPress CMS
  • Development of primary and sub-logos for the framework and certifications
  • Development of secondary branding, illustrations, custom infographics, and an icon library
  • Design of 4 x 4 page digital certifications brochures

In 2023 we were contracted to work on the conference branding project for the upcoming EEC National Conference 2024. This included:

  • Logo design and strategy: The brief for the new conference logo involved thorough consideration of target audiences, parent branding, vision, expected outcomes, and creating a solid strategy for the best design approach. The theme of the conference, “Driving Action in Australia on Efficiency, Electrification, and Decarbonisation,” was incorporated into the design. The strategy also accounted for future conference goals, such as potential theme or location changes, and outlined the best approach to refresh assets to engage both new and existing audiences.
  • Secondary branding/supporting graphics: As part of this project, we designed a vector pattern illustration featuring custom energy-focused iconography. This illustration is intended to be used on various marketing collateral, including banners, posters, event agenda, and more.
  • Brand style tile: We created a basic brand style tile showcasing the conference logo in all formats and on various backgrounds, the chosen colour palette, and brand fonts.

How is this ethical?

EEC Professional Certifications is delivered under the supervision of an expert Steering Committee and administered by the Energy Efficiency Council – Australia’s peak body for energy management, energy efficiency, and demand flexibility. It demonstrates the EEC’s ongoing commitment to developing the future energy workforce for Australia.

Our sustainability strategy

The EEC Professional Certifications website is hosted with Australia-based carbon neutral hosting provider Digital Pacific. Our annual donation of trees will offset this branding and website project.
