October 6, 2026 By Caitlin Jordan

Safe and Well CQ supports communities across Central Queensland through free services focused on safety, health and wellbeing.

Client overview

Safe and Well CQ provides free counselling and support services for people impacted by domestic and family violence, sexual assault, and women’s health and wellbeing. Its services are inclusive, trauma-informed and person-centred, helping women, young people, families and communities access practical support, counselling and care.

For more than 30 years, the organisation has combined direct support with education, advocacy and prevention programs designed to create safer, fairer and more respectful communities. Today, it works across the region through offices in Gladstone, Agnes Water and Biloela, as well as outreach services and community partnerships.

How we helped

EDCo. partnered with Safe and Well CQ to design and develop a new website that makes it easier for people across Central Queensland to find the right support services when they need them.

The website was structured around Safe and Well CQ’s key service areas — Safety, Health and Wellbeing — with clear navigation, prominent Find help now functionality and accessible information for people seeking support.

Our work with Safe and Well CQ included:

  • UX strategy and website design
  • Responsive Webflow development
  • Flexible CMS with service and location-based navigation
  • Application of the refreshed visual identity
  • Custom illustration and icon design
  • Fact sheet and worksheet redesign
  • Canva template creation

The new website brings together Safe and Well CQ’s services, locations and resources in one accessible digital platform, providing a more consistent user experience and making it easier for the team to manage and update content internally.

What makes them ethical

Safe and Well CQ is committed to promoting safety, equality and empowerment through trauma-informed, person-centred care. Their approach recognises the importance of dignity, choice and individual circumstances, ensuring people feel respected and supported when accessing essential services.

Through education, advocacy and community partnerships, the organisation also works to address systemic barriers, raise awareness and create lasting positive change across the region.

Our sustainability strategy

We designed and developed a future-focused website built for longevity and adaptability. Reusable design components and a flexible Webflow CMS support efficient content management, allowing the website to evolve alongside the organisation without requiring frequent redesigns.

A digital-first approach also helps minimise the need for separate or duplicated communication materials, making resources easier to maintain and distribute.

Our work was undertaken from home studios powered by solar energy, helping reduce the environmental impact of the design and development process. The carbon emissions associated with our design and development work are offset through EDCo.’s tree-planting program with Fifteen Trees.
